Dedication of Agua Caliente Cultural Museum Indigenous GardenAdd to Calendar
March 21, 2015 1:00 PM
Former Curator Dawn Wellman envisioned and conducted research for the creation of an Indigenous plants garden at the Museum. For two years, volunteers led by Museum Interpreter and project coordinator Don Karvelis have tended the garden located on the back patio of the Museum. Plants are now firmly established. This has been a joint effort of the Museum and the Desert Horticultural Society.
This garden was made possible by additional contributions of time, labor, plants, and expertise by: Avi Bet-Halakhmi, ASLA, Landscape Architect of AviBet Associates; Jesus Escamilla, Certified Aborist of Pro Landscaping, Ind.; and Bernardo Linares, Gardener.
