Film Submissions Now Being Accepted for the 2010 Festival of Native Film & Culture

AGUA CALIENTE CULTURAL MUSEUM CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR FESTIVAL OF NATIVE FILM & CULTURE

Palm Springs, CA – Sept 2009: Agua Caliente Cultural Museum announces film submission dates for the Festival of Native Film & Culture, March 10 – 14, 2010. Films will be accepted between October 15 and November 30. Films must be sent to the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, 471 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Suite 231, Palm Springs, CA 92262, attention Sharon May. Submissions must be accompanied by the official form found on the Museum’s Web site www.accmuseum.org. Rules for submission can also be found on the Web site. Questions should be submitted in writing to smay@accmuseum.org.
·    All entries will be pre-screened for consideration; however, not all entries will be   accepted for screening.
·    All non-English language titles must have English subtitles.
·    For preview purposes, both NTSC and PAL DVD screeners are accepted.
·    The Museum pays for all outbound shipping costs and insurance related to films accepted for screening. Prints and tapes are insured by the Festival shipping company for up to $1,000 per accepted film. While all accepted films are treated professionally and with care, the Festival is not responsible for loss or damage to prints or tapes.
·    All NTSC/PAL preview DVDs of films accepted for screening at the Festival of Native Film & Culture may be retained by the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum Library (a non-circulating library) for educational purposes only.
·    Film and video works reviewed but not screened will be returned to the filmmaker ONLY if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is received at the time of submission.
·    ALL SUBMISSION MUST BE POSTMARKED BY NOVEMBER 30, 2009.
·    Collect shipments to the Festival are not accepted.
The 2010 Festival  will be held Wednesday, March 10 through Sunday, March 14 and is expected to include feature films, documentaries, and short films from some of today’s premier Native American and international indigenous filmmakers. All screenings and receptions will take place at Camelot Theatres, 2300 E. Baristo Road, Palm Springs. Filmgoers will be invited to attend an Opening Night Reception at the Theatre followed by the 8:00 pm film screening. Complete information and schedule for the Festival of Native Film & Culture will be available in January 2010 at www.accmuseum.org.
