West Fork Hike to the Jo Pond Trail Feb. 10Sean_Milanovich_2017

The West Fork Trail leads to beautiful vistas of the surrounding mountains, Palm Springs and amazing cultural backdrop of the Santa Rosa and Santa Jacinto National Monument. Elevation is at 2,800 ft. Elevation gain is 2,000 ft. The ascent will climb from the bottom the bottom of Palm Canyon. Hike up the West Fork Trail for 2.5 miles to the trail junction of the Jo Pond. Continue on the Jo Pond Trail for about another 1.5 miles where we will break and turn around.  the cutlural geography of the area will be spoken about along the way. Total distance 8 miles and rated as moderate.

Meet at the Palm Canyon Trading Post inside the Indian Canyons at 8:30 A.M.

Bring: plenty of water, hiking boots, lunch, and a smile.

Trail Guide is Sean Milanovich. Sean is an experienced hiker and Native American historian. Sean is a member of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.

Attendees must register.

Member fee: $35

Non-Member fee: $50
